POSITION: Elementary Teacher - CVE

Salary Range: $41,203 to $76,326 DOE Excellent Fringe Benefits

Qualifications: Candidates should have experience with assessing students and using multiple instructional strategies. Bilingual candidates and candidates experienced in working with bilingual students and families strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Title: Teacher Assignment: Elementary

Reports to: Principal Evaluated by: Principal

  1. Position Overview: Instruction of student shall include skill development, the expansion of knowledge and developing the ability to reason. Responsibilities include supervision, guidance, discipline, and safety of students. The use of independent judgment and decision making is required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies or precedent.
  1. Essential Job Functions:
  2. Identifies the needs of individual students by continuous assessment of their performance and abilities.
  3. Uses identified student needs to plan instruction.
  4. Prepares and writes instructional plans.
  5. Uses a variety of appropriate methods and materials to implement instructional plans.
  6. Organizes and manages classroom to create the optimum learning conditions.
  7. Works collaboratively with grade level teams and other colleagues as directed.
  8. Applies learning theories to meet the needs of students.
  9. Evaluates and reports student progress.
  10. Supervises students in and out of the classroom.
  11. Initiates, plans, and carries out parent conferences.
  12. Initiates and maintains communication with parents and colleagues.
  13. Plans and coordinates the activities of educational assistants and other paraprofessionals as assigned.
  14. Collaborates successfully with colleagues.
  15. Other duties as assigned

  2. Participates in in-service and professional development activities.
  3. Assists in the assessment of building level needs and the planning required to meet those needs
  4. Attends meetings and serves on committees as assigned or directed (or if individual volunteers)

  3. Current concepts, methods, and procedures of curriculum development and implementation.
  4. Laws, rules, policies, and trends regarding instruction
  • Evaluation techniques.

  • Current health and safety procedures and practices.
  1. Ability to:
  2. Develop appropriate curriculum.
  3. Interpret and comply with laws, rules, and policies.

  2. Maintain acceptable student behavior and discipline.
  3. Communicate effectively.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Maintain confidentiality
  1. Experience:
  2. Demonstrated competency through college preparation, student teaching, and/or classroom experience, and professional development.
  3. Experience with PBIS and RTI preferred.
  1. License:
  2. Current Oregon license with appropriate endorsement in area of assignment
  3. Current ODL.
  1. Physical Requirements:

In an eight-hour day, employee may

  4. Stoop/Squat/Bend 1-2 Hours
  5. Lift/Carry 1-2 Hours Up to a weight of Over 50 lbs
